DPAS Supported Handheld Devices

ATTENTION: DPAS does not accredit/certify any specific device for use on DoD networks or in DoD facilities. Approval and certification of mobile devices is the responsibility of each organization as they research, acquire, administer, and maintain those devices on their local network. This list includes devices that have been tested and confirmed to work with the DPAS software which is accredited under the ATO included in our Reference Library documents. Inclusion in this list does not grant or imply certification for use on DoD networks. Approval for specific devices should be sought from each organizations’ Cyber team, executive leadership, or other approving body.
NOTE: Items identified with an asterisk (*) are available for purchase from an Army IDIQ contract. Click HERE for a link to the contract.

Discontinued Handheld Devices with continued DPAS support:
The below devices have been discontinued for use due to Microsoft officially ending updates for Windows Mobile Device Center (formerly known as ActiveSync). This software was utilized to allow the device to communicate data to a desktop, laptop or other work machines. Some DoD networks continue to allow this software and some do not.

A key element is the ability to still use Internet Explorer 11 at minimum - modern browser usage for legacy Windows Mobile AIT methodology is not supported.  If your network still allows this software, and your Windows 10 version updated through your organization has not otherwise rendered the ability non-functional, DPAS will still work with these devices. If you need further information regarding device communication, please contact our DPAS Support team.

COMPATIBILITY: Any 203dpi printer manufactured by Zebra, Honeywell, or Intermec (and uses the standard ZPL/IPL interpreter language) should work with DPAS. Printer Issues: Since the deployment of Release 2.6.0, label printers attached to Internet Explorer 8 machines have been affected. This is due to the release of new code which supports Internet Explorer 10 and 11. The fix is to change the beginning and ending sequence defined in the print driver. This can be accomplished by performing the following steps:

Start menu > Devices and Printers > Right Click on the correct Print Driver > Left Click on Print Preferences > Select the Advanced tab > Select the Other button towards the bottom of the page > Under the Commands section, Change the Start sequence to $% > Under the Commands section, Change the End sequence to %$ > Select the Close button > Apply and OK.

For detailed instruction, please view this RefDoc.

DPAS Offline App(s)

No WiFi in your warehouse? No Problem! DPAS presents Physical Inventory, one of many NEW ways to easily conduct your physical inventory counts. Go offline with this simple to use feature that lets you conduct a physical inventory without reliance on network/internet connectivity. Simply load your exported inventory data to a device, un-dock and go!

Whether it’s your standard PC, Tablet, or Mobile device, you’ll be able to pull up the app whenever you need to start capturing data, save it, and load it back into DPAS.
